Jazzy Jotters is designed to give students a practical insight into how a small business is run and is suitable for KS2 and KS3 students. The class is divided into teams, of 6 or 7 students who act as small businesses that produce Jazzy Jotter Note Pads.
Teams share out the job roles into management or production staff. The Managing Director organises the team and the Purchase Manager buys the resources to make the jotters.
They must make a sample jotter and secure a verbal contract with the teacher. After a full production run, they calculate how much profit they have made. The team that makes the most profit wins.
It's hard work, its competitive and its fun, just like the real business world. It’s also a great way to develop your students’ maths and financial literacy skills.
