Literacy Through…

Literacy Through… contains source materials for individual/small group work with the Special Needs teacher. With each worksheet is a range of integrated spinoff reinforcement materials for use by subject teachers in the ordinary mixed-ability classroom.

Literacy Through… contains five topics, each topic comprises three photocopiable pages from the core curriculum and a range of other subjects.

Source materials comprise worksheets on core aspects of the curriculum subjects, written in simple English. These feature comprehension questions and combinations of the following:

• punctuation work

• locating information/reading timetables

• filling in forms

• grammar

• phonics

• spelling rules

• word-building/suffixes/prefixes

• sequencing

• abbreviations

Reinforcement materials comprise:

• wordsearches, cloze passages, mix 'n' match, multiple choice questions
