Methods of Teaching shows students how they can learn more effectively while offering teachers approaches to learning that they may not have tried before.

Methods of Teaching is a work which starts from the simple point that there are different ways of teaching and different ways of learning, and that some approaches are much more effective than others.

By taking the position that the more students are aware of how they learn and how different methods bring different results, students can improve the way in which they approach their school work and indeed the speed and effectiveness of how they learn.

To achieve this the book looks at multiple ways of teaching and learning and considers which ones work best.

However in doing this, the volume goes further, for it gives details of a process in which teachers and students can both make decisions about the teaching and learning process, and as a result greatly enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of teaching and learning.

Thus some of the questions raised by the book are challenging while many are highly innovative, such as the research that shows that even small changes to the physical environment in which teaching and learning take place can increase the level of student retention of what they learn.

Other parts of the volume pick up topics that have been around for many years – such as whether it really is true that multi-sensory learning is the most effective form of learning, and if so, how can it be implemented.

But above all this volume shows students how they learn and how they can learn more effectively while offering teachers approaches to learning that they may not have tried before.

In addition, the volume contains extensive information on how the memory works, helping students become more effective in ensuring that they are able to use their memories most effectively to help them learn and retain information and ideas more effectively.

To aid in its use the book is available as a download, meaning that once purchased it can be circulated throughout the school for use by teachers and students within the school without further payment.
